Research and Innovation Projects

Our tasks include research and implementation of frameworks that facilitate sustainable transformation. We co-create portfolios of innovative solutions focused on systemic change for zero-net emissions.

We do this job across industries and for a wide range of sectors while our area of expertise is in blue growth, the so called water-food-energy nexus, which includes marine-related sectors such as the port and shipping industry, offshore renewable energies, marine biotechnology, aquaculture (fish feed and seaweed). We have also gained experience in research on sustainable packaging and have created a network of partners dedicated to alternative solutions for circularity in the plastics industry.

Earlier Projects

  • Deep Demonstration Maritime Hubs, an EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) Climate-KIC project on climate change impacts and adaptation in ports. This project aims to mobilise local actors , create understanding, and develop a portfolio of solutions for zero-net emissions, the revitalization of seaports and the strengthening of fragile eco-systems and their communities.
